Must a university student give up the plot of land that her grandfather gifted her to secure her future, especially since her father only spends a meager amount on her and her mother is asking her to return the land?

The issue of the questioner's mother withholding a portion of the land depends on the binding nature of the gift. If the grandfather gifted the land to the questioner's mother and then rescinded the gift before the mother disposed of it, his rescission is valid, and she must surrender the gifted portion to her granddaughter. However, if he rescinded after the mother disposed of the land through sale or similar means, his rescission is not valid. It is stated in Ibn Abi Zayd's Risala: "And he [the father] may reclaim what he gifted to his young or old child, as long as it has not been used for marriage, or for incurring debt, or if a new development has occurred regarding the gift."
