One must immediately initiate repentance from sin, because the intention to abandon sin is not repentance, and one must cease it at once without procrastination. It is permissible to swear an oath not to commit a sin while using equivocation, intending, for example, not to commit it on a specific day. It is also advised to abandon bad company and associate with the righteous.
