What is the ruling on designing three-dimensional characters on a computer, and is it forbidden or permissible if facial features are not made to resemble a real human?

It is forbidden to draw and photograph animate beings, and there is a severe warning against it, especially if they are three-dimensional, moving, and speaking, due to the extreme resemblance to Allah's creation. However, if the features of the face, such as the eyes, mouth, and nose, are effaced, then it is permissible; because it does not resemble Allah's creation, and because it is not considered a complete image.
