The husband has no right to compel his wife to undergo a temporary birth control procedure without her consent, nor is he permitted to request a permanent birth control procedure. The wife is not obligated to obey him in this matter, as permanent cessation of childbearing is not permissible except in cases of necessity. Procreation is a shared right of both spouses, and if pregnancy weakens the woman's health, then the spouses may mutually agree to temporary birth control.
