Is it permissible to drink coffee extracted from animal waste?

Piety (wara') means keeping away from animal waste. However, the waste of an animal whose meat is permissible to eat is considered pure, according to the preponderant opinion. This is because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the drinking of camel urine and milk for medicinal purposes, and it is not permissible to seek healing with forbidden things. If the waste is from an animal whose meat is not permissible to eat, then it is impure and its use is not permissible unless its essence changes through transformation (istihalah).
