Is bread kneaded with water containing a dead mouse ritually impure and forbidden to eat?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The water in which a mouse has died is impure (najis), and it is not permissible to knead bread with it and feed it to people. As for feeding it to animals, there is no objection to that. The evidence for its impurity is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about a mouse that fell into clarified butter (samn) and died. He said: "If it is solid, then remove it and what is around it, then eat what remains. If it is liquid, do not eat it."
