Is it permissible to remove the niqab in a European country that is nominally Muslim, due to the looks of disapproval and the hurtful comments, while wearing it upon returning home?

The Muslim who adheres to their religion in this era needs a great provision of patience to endure harassment and ridicule, seeking reward and recompense from Allah. Therefore, you must adhere to your lawful hijab (definition) and pay no attention to the gazes or ridicule of others. Allah Almighty recounted the situation of past believers and the ridicule they suffered from the disbelievers: "Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. And whenever they passed by them, they would exchange glances. And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. And when they saw them, they would say, 'Indeed, these are astray.'" So, you must be patient, for the reward becomes greater the more difficult the act of obedience, especially since this era may be described by the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There will come a time upon people when the one who is patient in adhering to his religion will be like one holding a burning coal," and his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Worship during times of turmoil is like migrating to me."
