What is the ruling on tribadism, and what is the response to those who claim it is not forbidden in the Qur’an?
There is no disagreement among scholars regarding the prohibition of lesbianism; in fact, many of them consider it a major sin. It is not permissible for a woman to engage in it, and her husband or guardian is obligated to prevent her from it. The evidence for its prohibition from the Quran is the Almighty’s saying: "And those who guard their private parts Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed But whoever seeks beyond that – then those are the transgressors" (Al-Mu'minun: 5-7). And from the , the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Lesbianism among women is adultery between them." Therefore, the husband is obligated to prevent his wife and discipline her, and likewise prevent his sister from this act.
