Is it permissible to profit from YouTube by watching videos from other devices on a channel with low viewership, knowing that the advertisements are filtered and free from prohibited content?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Watching advertisements through other devices to deceive advertisement owners into thinking there is an increase in views is considered cheating and deception, and this has been prohibited. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever deceives is not one of us." And he said: "He who deceives us is not one of us, and deceit and deception are in the Fire." This action does not benefit the advertisement owner, and lawful and good earnings are plentiful for whoever seeks them. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect.
