Is the salary earned from playing in the name of a club in chess tournaments, in addition to the prizes and expenses obtained from this game, considered permissible (halal) or impermissible (haram)?

Scholars have differed on the ruling concerning chess, and accordingly, the ruling on accepting payment for it also differs. If it is forbidden or involves something forbidden, then it is not permissible to accept payment for it, and one must dispose of it by spending it on theibilities of Muslims or giving it to the poor and needy. If the money is not available, one should donate an equivalent amount.

However, if it is permissible because it is free from forbidden elements, then there is no harm in playing it and accepting payment for it. Nevertheless, it is preferable to avoid this, as the earnings from it may not be good.
