Is it permissible to offer the amount designated for building a mosque as a single lump sum, while discontinuing the usual daily charity for a number of days, or will the day on which charity was not given not be counted as an act of charity?

It is permissible to offer daily voluntary charity to complete a donation share for building a mosque. If it is permissible to offer obligatory charity before its due time, then offering voluntary charity is even more permissible. It must be noted that obligatory Zakat al-Mal (charity on wealth) is not sufficient for building mosques; rather, it must be disbursed to its eight designated recipients mentioned in the Quran. The building of mosques should be funded through voluntary charity.
