The answer

Suicide is not a relief, but rather a transition to the torment of Hell. Whoever kills himself with iron, or poison, or by falling from a mountain, will be tormented by that with which he killed himself in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein forever. Allah has forbidden Paradise to whoever kills himself, and scholars have considered it a major sin. Thoughts of suicide are a temptation from Satan, indicating the servant's ignorance of Allah's immense forgiveness and vast mercy, and his ignorance that repentance erases sins. To be rid of the torment of sin, it is sufficient to repent to Allah.
