If a woman knows or strongly suspects that she will menstruate during the time of a prayer, she must hasten to pray, and it is not permissible for her to delay it. She must repent and make up the prayer after she becomes pure. However, if she does not know that she will menstruate, there is no sin upon her for delaying the prayer within its prescribed time. It is not appropriate to intentionally delay the 'Isha prayer until after one-third or half of the night has passed. Making up a prayer during whose time a woman began menstruating is a matter of scholarly disagreement, and the more preponderant opinion is that it is not obligatory to make it up, but making it up as a precaution is good.
