Is it permissible for a woman to delay the 'Isha prayer?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
A woman may delay the 'Isha prayer until the first third or half of the night, as long as she does not fear missing its time. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Were it not for the weakness of the weak and the sickness of the sick, I would have commanded this prayer — the 'Isha — to be delayed until the middle of the night." However, if she fears that she will be preoccupied with something and miss the prayer, then she should hasten to perform it at the beginning of its time.
