What is the ruling on someone who thought the Imam bowed and so bowed, whereas the Imam had prostrated for recitation?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If the Imam prostrates for recitation and the worshiper thinks he has bowed, so he bows, then:

- If the worshiper realizes the Imam is prostrating while he is still bowing, he must prostrate, following his Imam. - If he does not realize until after the Imam has risen from prostration, the worshiper should rise from his bowing and continue to follow the Imam. The prostration of recitation is waived for him because it is not a pillar, and the time for following has passed.
