Is it permissible to make up missed Ramadan fasts while still experiencing intermittent postpartum bleeding (nifas) ten months after childbirth?

The maximum duration of postpartum bleeding (nifas) is forty days. Any bleeding beyond that is considered irregular bleeding (istihada) and does not prevent prayer or fasting, unless it coincides with a woman's usual menstrual period. Continuous bleeding for 10 months has the following possibilities:

1. If the bleeding does not stop: This is considered irregular bleeding (istihada). She should observe her usual menstrual period. If she does not have one, then she should differentiate based on the color and consistency of the blood. Otherwise, she should consider six or seven days as a typical menstrual period, or align it with the usual period of her female relatives.

2. If the bleeding is intermittent with periods of purity: If the total number of days of bleeding and purity exceeds 15 days, then it is irregular bleeding (istihada). Otherwise, the bleeding is considered menstruation (hayd) and the period of purity is considered purity (tuhr).
