What is the ruling on the actions of a father characterized by stinginess, ill-treatment, and injustice towards one of his children, and who seeks to cut off his livelihood and expel him from the home without cause?

It is not permissible for a father to be stingy with the obligatory maintenance for his wife and young children who have no wealth. The wife is permitted to take from his money in a reasonable manner without his knowledge if she is sure of no negative consequences; otherwise, she may refer her case to a judge. As for the father's treatment of his son, if there is a shortcoming on the son's part, he must rectify it. If there is none, he should gently inquire from his father. If it is confirmed that he has been wronged, he has no recourse but patience, piety, and kindness, for this is a trial from Allah that purifies hearts. If the matter persists, good-hearted people can mediate to reconcile them. Remember that victory comes with patience and that indeed, with hardship will be ease.
