The question

Where is Mount Tur, mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, located? And does “Tur Sina’” in the verse: "and a tree that springs forth from Mount Sinai" refer to the entire Sinai Peninsula or only Mount Tur, especially since there are no olive trees around the current Mount Tur in Egypt’s Sinai?

The answer

Mount Sinai (Jabal Al-Toor) is located in Sinai, Egypt. Most exegetes believe that "Tur Sinai" specifically refers to this particular mountain, not the entire land of Sinai. It is also possible that "Tur Sinai" refers to Sinai itself, rather than exclusively to the mountain.
