Is a woman who has decided to get a Khulʿ entitled to reclaim her clothes and personal belongings that she bought with her own money, or the gifts she received from her siblings?

Khul‘ is valid with a compensation agreed upon by the spouses, whether it be the dower (mahr), part of it, or other property belonging to the wife. If khul‘ is completed and the woman hands over the compensation to her husband, then she is entitled to take back any other property she owns, such as her clothes and gifts. It is recommended for the husband not to take more than he gave her. We emphasize that reconciliation and living together amicably are preferred over separation.
