There is no harm in a wife seeking divorce if the husband is derelict in her rights, such as maintenance and conjugal relations. However, if he wishes to take another wife, she is not permitted to seek divorce, unless he is unable to deal justly between wives, in which case he is not permitted to practice polygyny.
