Defects that do not establish the option of فسخ (annulment) do not obligate the suitor to inform his fiancée about them, nor vice versa. Concealing them is not considered deceit, because marriage is built on مكارمة (generosity and graciousness), not مكايسة (shrewdness or bargaining). However, some scholars hold the view that any defect that repulses the partner and prevents the purpose of marriage necessitates the option (of annulment). The more preponderant view is that informing about defects that do not necessitate the option is not obligatory, but it is preferable for the continuation of marital life.
