How can a balance be struck between the husband's desire to spend Eid with his family and the wife's desire to spend it with her family or in their own home?

We believe that it is not the husband's right to force his wife to visit his family and stay overnight with them. However, the relationship between spouses should be based on understanding, compassion, and kindness. It is among the noble virtues for each of them to treat the other's family well and to assist them in honoring their parents and maintaining kinship ties. Therefore, we advise reaching an understanding and mutual agreement on what achieves the ties of kinship within the bounds of Islamic law and custom.
