What is incumbent upon one who has had sexual intercourse with his wife four times during the daytime in Ramadan over four consecutive days? And is it permissible to give the expiation (diyah) to a charity organization if circumstances only allow for making up the days and feeding the poor?

You have committed a great sin by engaging in intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan. You must offer sincere repentance. You are required to offer expiation for each day you had intercourse (which is the more cautious view), or a single expiation for all days, according to some scholars.

The expiation is to free a believing slave. If that is not possible, then you must fast for two consecutive months. If you are unable to do that, then you must feed sixty needy people. This order of expiation is obligatory according to the majority of scholars. It is permissible to pay the value of the feeding to a trustworthy charitable organization.
