1. Is it permissible to supplicate with the words: "O Allah, make my virtue in my Ummah like the virtue of so-and-so (from the Companions) in the Ummah?" 2. Is it permissible to supplicate that one prays behind the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in this world before the Hereafter with the intention of a vision? 3. Is it obligatory to persist in supplicating for the facilitation of university studies if it does not materialize, or could the good be in something else, and should the matter be entrusted to Allah?

No one who came after the Companions can attain their virtue. Therefore, supplicating Allah to make your virtue in the Ummah like that of one of the Companions is an transgression in du'a. As for supplicating to see the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in a dream, and to facilitate success in studies, it is permissible, rather, persisting in it is permissible and desirable. Du'a is an act of worship for which a Muslim is rewarded, even if it is for a worldly matter. A Muslim should ask Allah for good, persist in du'a, entrust his affairs to Allah, and submit to Allah's decree and destiny; for Allah knows best what is good for His servant.
