What is the ruling on working with the Jama'at al-Tabligh wa al-Da'wah (Group for Preaching and Da'wah)?

Collective action in support of truth is permissible and commendable, as long as it does not lead to factionalism, fanaticism, or the rejection of truth. If a group follows the methodology of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, then cooperation with it and supporting it in truth is permissible. Truth is not known by men, and everyone's words can be accepted or rejected except those of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. A Muslim must accept the truth from whoever brings it. Those who cooperate with groups should make it clear that their loyalty is to the truth, and that their work does not imply hatred of others. Love and loyalty are proportional to a believer's obedience and religiosity. Pledging allegiance to a name, slogan, or person is an act of the people of innovation (Ahl al-Bid'ah), and the oath of allegiance (bay'ah) mentioned in the hadiths is for the general Imam. These groups, even if they intend to support the truth, are not all equally sound in their methodology, and Islam is not confined to them. They should be seen in their natural context as means, not ends.
