If you break your oath by doing what you swore to abandon, expiation becomes incumbent upon you. A second expiation is also incumbent upon you for the second breach, according to the majority of scholars, in contrast to those who hold that expiations merge if their cause is one, such as saying: "By Allah, I will not eat," and "By Allah, I will not drink."
