It is forbidden to eat the food of polytheists if it requires ritual slaughter (tadhkiyah), such as the slaughtered animals of Hindus and Sikhs, because the majority of scholars have unanimously agreed on the prohibition of slaughtered animals from those who are not People of the Book. As for other foods that do not require ritual slaughter, it is permissible to eat them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, accepted the invitation of a Jew.
