Is it permissible for a married Muslim man to press a girl to marry him, knowing that she is divorced and religious, and considers that a sin against his current wife?

There is no religious impediment to persistently asking a woman to marry you, unless there is another impediment such as seclusion (khalwa) or unlawful looking (nazar). There is no sin or injustice to the first wife in marrying a second if the husband is physically and financially capable of polygyny, and he believes himself capable of being just between them. We advise the questioner to marry this divorced woman if he is able, so that he may earn the reward of protecting her chastity, and because that is a cure for his love and attachment to her, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Nothing like marriage is seen for those who love each other." If he does not marry her, he must cut off his relationship with her and dedicate his attention to his wife and children.
