What is meant by the Prophet's saying (peace be upon him): "None of you should leave a share for Satan in himself; when he finishes [praying], he should turn to his left"?

Let none of you give Satan a share of his prayer by believing that it is obligatory to turn to the right. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was often seen turning to his left. This belief contradicts the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who would turn according to need, and most often turned to his left because his houses were in that direction.
