Does the hadith "Whoever forsakes [his brother] for more than three [days], then dies, will enter the Fire" apply to a person who observes prayer?

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not lawful for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three days. So whoever abandons [his brother] for more than three days and dies [in that state] will enter the Fire." The meaning of this is that whoever abandons his brother for more than three days due to worldly matters and dies persisting in that state before repenting, he is among the disobedient monotheists who deserve punishment by Fire. Entering the Fire does not entail eternity, but rather it is temporary, from which its owner will exit after his punishment, unless Allah wills to pardon him. This warning applies to anyone who abandons his brother for more than three days, even if he is regular in prayer.
