Does the presence of yellowish water or wetness inside the vagina, without visible wetness or remembering a wet dream upon waking, necessitate ghusl?

Ghusl (definition) is not obligatory if the yellowish discharge does not exit to the outer part of the vulva, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Yes, if she sees the discharge." This is the view of the Maliki, Hanbali, and Hanafi schools. The "outer part of the vulva" refers to what is visible when relieving oneself. The Shafi'i school differentiates between a virgin and a non-virgin: a virgin is not required to perform ghusl unless the discharge exits, while a non-virgin is. The more preponderant view is that ghusl is not obligatory if the discharge does not exit to the outer part of the vulva. However, if one performs ghusl out of precaution, it is good. One should not go to the trouble of searching for it by using cotton or similar means, as this may open the door to obsessive doubts (waswasah).
