Is an infant's tahneek with dates performed daily, and is it from the Sunnah?

It is a Sunnah to perform the tahneek for a newborn with a date on the first day of his birth, and it is preferable for this to be before breastfeeding, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did with Abdullah ibn Al-Zubayr. The hadiths indicate that dates or sweet food should be the first thing to enter the child's stomach due to their health benefits.
