The largest number mentioned in the Holy Quran is one hundred thousand, in His (the Almighty's) saying: "And We sent him to a hundred thousand or more." The wisdom of its mention corresponds to the number of people to whom the Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) was sent. There is no special merit distinguishing this number, and what is mentioned in numerical miraculousness is often a shot in the dark and an artificiality that does not rely on valid methods of inference.
