Is it permissible for a Muslim to lead the congregational prayers in the mosque while making mistakes in recitation, or should he avoid leading and pray in another mosque, especially given the desire of the neighborhood residents for him to lead and the availability of a job opportunity for him as an Imam?

Praise be to Allah that the people of your mosque love you and think well of you. Be keen to pray with them and benefit them by leading the prayer, especially if their regular imam is not proficient. Address the issue of mistakes in recitation by reviewing the verses thoroughly or by reciting only what you are certain of having memorized. Do not take employment in the mosque if your father objects to it, especially given the scholarly disagreement regarding the permissibility of taking wages for leading prayers, with the majority of scholars prohibiting it. Strive diligently to find work and be sincere in your supplications for its facilitation.
