Is blood impure, and does prayer become void in clothes stained with blood?

The majority of scholars hold that blood is impure, and a consensus (ijma') has been reported on this, though it is a weak خلاف (difference of opinion). A small amount of blood is excused and does not affect the validity of the prayer. If the blood is not of the amount that is excused, then it should be advised to remove it.
