Is it permissible to buy a machine that was originally purchased with an usurious loan, and its owner was unable to pay its installments, then complete the monthly installments to the bank?
If the machine is free of usury (i.e., it is not subject to usurious installments), there is no harm in purchasing it. And if the installments you will pay to the bank are free of usury (i.e., no late fees are incurred), there is no harm in purchasing the machine and paying those installments. However, if there are late fees on the installments, then it is not permissible for you to enter into this payment arrangement, for the consequence of usury is severe. Allah Almighty said: (But if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger).
