There is no harm in seeking assistance from Jewish merchants in purchasing permissible goods, even if the Jew is at war [with Muslims], because trade with a disbeliever is not forbidden except in matters that strengthen them against fighting Muslims, such as weapons. Prohibiting trade with them would harm the oppressed Muslims more than it would harm the Jews.
