Can the continuous problems in marriage, work, and travel that the questioner's family is experiencing, which began with the presence of strange water in front of the house, be attributed to magic (sihr) or the evil eye (ayn), even if their usual symptoms do not appear, but only a a general difficulty in affairs?

Envy and magic are real and have an effect by Allah's permission, but one must beware of exaggerating and attributing everything that happens to them. One should strive for success and know the true reasons for failure. Among the greatest of these reasons is obedience to Allah the Almighty and piety, for: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him from his matter ease." And the greatest cause of calamities is disobedience to Allah the Almighty, for: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; and He pardons much." Strive in obedience to Allah, avoid disobeying Him, and frequently supplicate and humble yourself before Him. Use lawful ruqyah, for: "And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him."
