The answer

It is not permissible for a woman to seek medical treatment from a male doctor if a female doctor is available. A Muslim female doctor should be prioritized over a non-Muslim female doctor. If no female doctor is available, then it is permissible for a Muslim male doctor to treat her; otherwise, a non-Muslim male doctor may treat her. The examination should be limited to what is necessary, and in the presence of a , or husband, or a trustworthy woman. The cost of treatment is not a consideration unless it is exorbitant. It is not permissible for the doctor to see or touch anything of the woman except what is dictated by necessity or need. If continued treatment with a male doctor becomes necessary to avert harm from oneself, then there is no objection to that.
