What is the ruling on wearing a gold watch or one that contains some gold?

There is no objection to women wearing gold watches, unlike men. This is based on the general narrations that permit women to wear and adorn themselves with gold, such as the hadith: "Gold and silk have been made lawful for the females of my nation and forbidden for its males." There is no difference in permissibility between a watch that is entirely gold and a watch that is partly gold and partly made of another material. As for men, it is not permissible for them to wear gold, unless the proportion of gold is very small, in which case there is a detailed ruling.
