Do the soul of the deceased return to their grave on Thursday and ascend on Friday, and does the deceased feel those who visit them and boast about it?

Matters related to the deceased and their states in the grave are unseen (ghayb) and should not be delved into without evidence. There is no authentic evidence that the soul of the deceased descends on Thursday and ascends on Friday. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that the souls of the deceased draw near their graves on Friday and recognize their visitors. As for the deceased's awareness of their visitors, authentic hadiths have indicated this. Ibn Taymiyyah said that the deceased addresses those who hear, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no man who passes by the grave of a man whom he used to know in the worldly life and greets him, but Allah returns his soul to him so that he may return the greeting."
