Is it permissible to lighten - dye - the eyebrows?

Contemporary scholars differ on the ruling concerning bleaching eyebrows: one group has prohibited it due to its altering of Allah's creation and its resemblance to the forbidden act of plucking eyebrows (al-namṣ), and the matter may become even more prohibited if it involves imitating disbelievers or causes harm to the body, and because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed women who pluck eyebrows, women who have their eyebrows plucked, and women who alter Allah's creation. Meanwhile, others have permitted it. Since the issue is a matter of doubt due to the disagreement among scholars, it is preferable and more cautious to refrain from bleaching eyebrows.
