What is the reward for sponsoring orphans and raising them?

The parents, closest relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer are the foremost categories deserving of spending. And Allah is All-Knowing of whatever good is done. The one who cares for an orphan and a needy person is like a mujahid in the way of Allah, and like one who prays constantly without tiring and fasts without breaking their fast. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I and the one who cares for an orphan will be like this in Paradise," and he gestured with his index and middle fingers. And whoever desires to soften their heart and have their needs fulfilled, let them show mercy to the orphan, stroke their head, and feed them from their own food.
