Is it permissible to invoke blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with the wording: "O Allah, bless Muhammad as You love and are pleased for him"?

There is no harm in sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or supplicating with any wording that does not contain a Sharia-forbidden element, such as exaggeration (ghuluw). Although such phrases are permissible, it is preferable to limit oneself to the wordings that have been reported and authentically established from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, such as: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim; indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious."
