What is the form of angels, and what are their functions in this world and the Hereafter?

Angels are magnificent creatures made of light. Allah created them from light. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The angels were created from light." Allah gave them wings with which they fly. Allah the Almighty said: "(Who made the angels messengers having wings, two, three, and four)." It is mentioned that Jibril has six hundred wings. They are immense in creation, for the distance between the earlobe of an angel among the bearers of the Throne and his shoulder is a journey of seven hundred years.
