Is a person credited with performing more than one night's worship in a single night by virtue of praying Isha and Fajr in congregation and performing Tarawih with the Imam?

The Sunnah contains indications that a Muslim may be credited with the reward of a full night's prayer through more than one action, including: 1. Praying Isha and Fajr in congregation: "Whoever prays Isha in congregation, it is as if he has stood half the night in prayer. And whoever prays Isha and Fajr in congregation, it is as if he has stood the entire night in prayer." 2. Praying Tarawih with the Imam until he finishes: "Whoever stands with the Imam in Tarawih until he finishes, it is written for him as if he has stood a night in prayer."

This demonstrates the vastness of Allah's bounty. Therefore, it is not surprising that Allah may combine for His servant the merit of two nights' prayer in one night. However, a Muslim should not rely on this and abandon night prayer. Rather, he should strive to pray as much of the night as he can, to attain a greater reward. Indeed, a believer should be a pioneer in good deeds and a competitor in acts of obedience.
