The answer

Zakat is obligatory on the association's funds if they reach the nisab and a full year (hawl) has passed over them. Its amount is one-quarter of one-tenth (2.5%), and it is not forfeited if it is not disbursed.

If land or real estate is purchased with these funds with the intention of selling them, then zakat is obligatory on them as trade goods, by appraising them and disbursing 2.5% of their value at the end of each year (hawl). However, if they are not intended for sale, such as being for rent or cultivation, then zakat is not obligatory on the value of the land or real estate.
