Who are the Kakaiyya (Sarliyya) who claim Islam but do not act according to its teachings, nor do they slaughter the rooster, but rather sanctify it and sanctify Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) while saying that he prays in their stead, and they fast three unknown days, and their worship is secret?

The Kakai are a Kurdish sect, their name derived from "kaka," meaning "brother." Among their important books are: "Khutbat al-Bayan," which they falsely attribute to Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and "Jawidan Urfi." Their beliefs are concealed and characterized by extreme exaggeration, and they were influenced by Husayn ibn Mansur al-Hallaj. They deify Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), deny the description and naming of Allah, and believe in the unity of existence (wahdat al-wujud), incarnation (hulul), union (ittihad), and transmigration of souls (tanasukh). They have shrines and mausoleums where they offer vows. Among their rituals is "the meal of love," where a rooster or sheep is slaughtered and the food is distributed. This sect is astray and outside the pale of Islam.
