It is permissible to enter into a (profit-sharing) agreement with the supermarket owner under certain conditions: First, the goods must be appraised in monetary value to constitute the capital of the Mudarabah. Second, your share of the profit must be a common, unspecified fraction, such as half or a quarter, and not a fixed amount. Third, you must not guarantee the capital in case of loss, provided there is no transgression or negligence on your part. There is no objection to the capital owner working with you if the aforementioned conditions are met.
