What should someone do who becomes angry and sharp-tongued when offering advice if it is not accepted, and should they abandon advising altogether, or only advise those they know? And how can they overcome the lack of courage in advising those they do not know?

A Muslim must advise all other Muslims. Jarir ibn Abdullah pledged allegiance to the Prophet, peace be upon him, based on this, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Religion is 'nasiha' (sincere advice/counsel)." The fundamental principle is that advice should be given with gentleness and leniency, even to the disobedient and wicked, as Allah Almighty said to Moses and Aaron: "And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." One must strive to practice giving advice with gentleness, seeking assistance from experienced individuals and through prayer.
